President Obama on Monday concluded what is expected to be his final foreign trip in office, traveling over the course of a week to Greece, Germany, and Peru. In all three stops, the President had the opportunity to speak to close allies and friends about America’s commitment to our partners and our efforts, in some cases over the course of the Administration, to tackle some of the most pressing global challenges.

In his first visit to Greece, the President had an opportunity to speak to the Greek people, the pioneers of democracy, about the global economy and the resilience of the democratic system of government. The President also witnessed ancient Greece’s marvels firsthand when he toured the Acropolis.

From there, it was off to Berlin, Germany, where President Obama met with his close partner and friend Chancellor Angela Merkel. Their discussions focused on the strength of U.S.-German relations. They later were joined by other European leaders for sessions on regional and broader global challenges.

In his final stop in Lima, Peru, the President attended an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Summit, where he heralded the progress we have achieved in our Rebalance to the Asia-Pacific region. He also held a town hall with several hundred young people under the auspices of the Young Leaders of the America’s Initiative.

Here’s a look back at what happened on the President’s final foreign trip in office.
