James, I’m a volunteer with White Nonsense Roundup and we’ve been asked to come over here and talk about what you’re doing with this post, which is plagiarizing the work of a Black woman to further your own agenda. The first and most important point is that racism can NOT be perpetrated against white folks, its not possible. Racism requires institutional power that is not afforded Black and Brown individuals in this country, it is given to White folks by accident of birth and perpetuated by a system designed to keep White people in power and Black and Brown people on the outside. What you are doing here is completely disregarding the real point of the original essay, and re-enforcing the fact that White people are not only unwilling to do better, but would rather place the blame on those affected by racism. How is that helpful? How does that further your alleged goal of fighting against racism? White people are not affected by racism, we are not disproportionately targeted by police, by housing practices and voter districts that prevent us from being represented by people that represent our communities, or by hiring practices that keep us in poverty. White people like us simply can not understand the reality of being a Black or Brown person in America and your passive aggressive attempt to co-opt and colonize the words of a Black woman expressing her very valid life experience is only re-enforcing that narrative.
