Innovations in healthcare and health technology will change, and prolong, our lives in the coming generations, affecting us in exciting, and accelerating, ways. The work being done in this area will impact on us all.

And that’s the space that Wideacademy orbits. Born out of WideCells Group Plc, the stem cells company, Wideacademy is looking to connect innovators, practitioners and audiences in the stem cell and life sciences industries in the belief that knowledge sharing and education produces, in the medium and long term, better health outcomes.

That knowledge sharing and engagement will take place digitally. We are building, with some of the leading technology architects in the world, an education and thought leadership platform which will create information and service flows for medical professionals in and around the stem cell industries, as well as medical insurers (such as CellPlan) and, of course patients and consumers.

We’re currently in the early stages of this work, intending to launch Winter 2017, and understanding that what we build will change as we challenge our own assumptions as we learn from our users and our partners in the very process of building the ‘alpha’ version of our platform. That’s where we will demonstrate some of the breadth of research in this area and indicate the possibilities for healthcare this opens up. And we’re looking in a variety of directions to see where this takes us, most notably in the field of AI where the huge possibilities, as yet, remain tantalisingly over the next horizon.

So join us on this journey as we build, learn and share together — exploring the enormous potential of stem cells in healthcare and the boundless options that digital technology gives us to share and connect around them.
