I think we’d also benefit from some sort of curation or randomization of the articles that are dominating our screen real estate. There’s very, very little churn there and we’d benefit from a little variety.

The current system features new articles but strongly encourages clickbaitiness rather than depth/quality, as many other writers have noticed

Having little themes, a ‘top publications list’ that moves around a bit, featured pubs and writers, and so on would be really helpful in seeing all the greatness medium has to offer. Right now the front page is a really narrow window and I’m sure I’m barely finding a tiny fraction of the great things that I could be devouring.
