The owner and chairman of Brown Automotive Group, Ltd., William E. Schuiling oversees numerous automobile dealerships in Fairfax, Virginia, as well as in Richmond, Charlottesville, and other cities in the state. His firm additionally maintains locations in Baltimore and other Maryland communities, and in Washington, DC. William Schuiling has also earned praise as a donor to a range of charities, notably the Police Unity Tour that took place in May 2016.

In a letter to Schuiling, the local chief of police thanked him personally for his sponsorship of the event. Thanks to the donation, the police chief was able to travel by bicycle as part of the Police Unity Tour group from Richmond to Washington, DC. The group gathered at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial to honor the memories of fellow officers killed in the line of duty.

The Police Unity Tour was created to raise funds to support the memorial and to ensure a lasting remembrance of all slain officers. The first tour took place nearly 20 years ago. The event now consists of thousands of police officers who join forces to make the trip every year. Total Police Unity Tour contributions to the memorial fund have reached $20 million.
