Love It or Hate It, Valentines Day Promotes Brand Creativity

Phew, so that’s valentine’s Day, over for another year! Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day has become a staple marketing hook for brand campaigns. And over recent years the commercial noise around Valentine’s Day has grown and grown. In fact, it is now estimated that in the U.S alone, a whopping 190 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year! The increasing commercialization and media noise around Valentine’s Day, has forced brands to look for more innovative ways to utilize the popular marketing hook across a plethora of communication channels. For the purposes of this blog I’ll be drawing upon three campaigns that have stood out to me this year, from a range of media and budgets.
