The Versus Challenge
Give me a challenge to pick the best of two things!
I’m not sure how many readers will even know about Tumblr, but there was a time when it was significant and I had some fun interacting with random people there. Something that I did was a game that I called “Which is Better?” From time to time, I would make a quick post and ask people to reply with two things that I would then compare and choose the winner. It was very subjective and I often looked for unusual reasons for my choice.
The one that stands out in my mind was “Which is better- Wolverine or a Toaster?”
Wolverine or a Toaster?
I lost the original post. I have been trying to piece things back together from at least a decade ago. You have to consider that Wolverine has a lot of mobility when compared to a toaster, and he can bring his claws into play. However, a toaster has the simple and brilliant ability to make toast.
It is important to understand that this isn’t just a competition to see which choice would win in a fight. It can sometimes come down to utility and benefit. Keep in mind that Wolverine is a person. He makes his own choices. A toaster just makes toast. Wolverine has a huge temper and does what he wants.
If I had to choose, I would pick the toaster again. Wolvie is great, but I worry that he might lose control and it might not turn out well for me.
Now it’s time for you to join the fun!
Now that you know how it works, please send me your match-ups. There aren’t too many limitations. I will say that it is usually better to work with nouns (person, place, thing, or idea) but I could see a nice verb vs. verb match could work as well. Leave a comment, and I will see what I can do with the one or two I might see.
If you are reading this, then you have reached the end of this post. Thanks for making it this far. Perhaps you would like to follow me so you can see more of my work. If you enjoyed this, check out some of my other writing. I will be covering a wide variety of topics. I am also going to include some links if you want to support me on other platforms as well.
