App Story: Ghostbusting Wine!

If you are like me and dont get all the mystery around wine when all I want is to get a wine I like within my budget. Or to gift one to a friend or family for an occassion based on what they like.

So when I walk into a wine store and there are many bays of wines from every conceivable part of the known world, frankly it fazes me. All I want is to pick a bottle or two and get home or to wherever I am going so I can enjoy the wine and company. I dont want to be stuck with the wines the store guy is trying to push either. This happens in a restaurant too. I am a wee bit suspicious of their motives.

So if there was an easy and quick way for me to get a set of wines I could pick from and then ask the store or restaurant if they had one of these so I could buy it and run. My preference is usually a dry, red wine, maybe an Italian Cab Sav or Californian Merlot, for a casual drink at home alone or with pals. I dont have a wine name as I want to try a new wine every time. After all, life’s too short to drink the same wine twice, right? Nor do I want to scan multiple wine labels to figure which one I should buy. After all, how many can I scan in a store with many thousand wines !

If I could find these wines by just sending a chat message to a service like I do on Whatsapp and getting back some popular wines? That would be cool, easy and fast. Maybe the same way i think — red, dry, California, Merlot say. So we decided someone’s got to do that to make life easy for every casual wine lover like me, so why not us?
