A Call for Cooperation Against Fake News

I think part of the problem is that fake news sites and mainstream media share a common aim in their social media strategies. Both want to maximize exposure. This has led to a convergence in their presentation that hasn’t wholly come from the fake news side. Mainstream media has borrowed the click-bait strategies of fake news, making it harder to distinguish between the two.

At a first glance I find it hard to tell which of these headlines are real and which are fake.

If real news were to use more reserved headlines it would be easier for humans, and algorithms, to distinguish it from fake news. Would anyone have the courage to make that change?
