Manifesting Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the act of living in the moment. Something as simple as being aware of your surroundings and taking that whole experience in can even be difficult sometimes. Many of us are either caught in the the past or the future. Focusing on what’s ahead or behind us can make life rather unsatisfying. The saying that tomorrow is not guaranteed is very true; yet many of us spend a lot of time focusing on tomorrow and not the now. To practice mindfulness means you are living in the now, because this is all you have guaranteed.

Practicing mindfulness allows for stress and worry about the past or future to ease and to live in the current moment. Whats going on now and how can you best spend your time in this moment? To achieve mindfulness you will need to center your focus into the moment and allow your mind to stop racing.

Mindfulness can be found through Grounding techniques such as :

  • yoga
  • different breathing techniques
  • meditation

Practicing thought stoping can also be beneficial — when you have those thoughts of the past saying to yourself “I accept the things that I cannot change, and change the things I can”.

When a worrisome thought arrises in regards to the future gently remind yourself “that is not now, I will cross that bridge when I get there”.
