By now I’m sure you have heard people talking about their chakras and how beneficial it is to be in touch with them, but what exactly is a chakra?

Chakra is a term in Sanskrit that means “wheel” or “disk”. Essentially a chakra is a spinning wheel or disk of energy and light. Chakras take in and emanate the energy around us to help sustain us at optimum levels.


There are seven points in the body where you chakras are located.


Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency and color associated with it. These chakras all play a part in how our body functions. When there is an upset in the body like illness or even depression, it affects our energy output.

The key to a healthy body in relation to our energy is to speak our truth. This simply means to listen to what your body is telling you and to treat it with kindness.

Some helpful ways to bring awareness to your own energy centers is to practice meditation and yoga. In these settings you are relaxed and focused on your body, here you can identify if there are “blocks” in your chakras.
