Lawd, not the “Africans had slaves and sold them to US” justification of not only the horrors of American chattel slavery but for the Jim Crow era (both North and South) and current anti-Black American racism. Did Africans selling other Africans (mostly prisoners of war — and let’s just eliminate that those “slaves” would eventually become members of the tribe that conquered them in many of those African cultures that are never named by American slavery apologists) somehow give Whites in America some divine permission to abuse, beat, kill, rape and torture them for damn near 500 years?
