Nevada Basketball takes new form under Coach Musselman

It’s October 30, 2015 and Lawlor Events Center is beginning to buzz with anticipation. Hours before the first home game of the season many Wolf Pack fans were unsure what Eric Musselman, Nevada Basketball’s new head coach, would do to turn the team around.

Fast forward to March 16, 2016 and the Nevada basketball team is hours away from playing for their 20th win, a feat that that has not come easy in recent years. This is also the Wolf Pack’s first postseason appearance in four years. Senior Tyron Criswell said to the Tahoe Daily Tribune that the team is disappointed they won’t be playing in the NCAA tournament but still believe they can win the CBI Tournament.

Now looking back to the middle part of the season I can’t help but wonder what Coach Musselman did to spark a fire under these players. On the court he has been able to put together a group of players that will do anything to win. The hard work on the part of the whole team, coaches and players included, gained Musselman the Mountain West Coach of the Year award from BleacherReport.com. Along with this various players receiving Mountain West honors for their play.

This team no doubt likes to have fun in their spare time while still promoting games and staying focussed. Overall the Wolf Pack basketball team has found their balance and are looking forward to fun and success in the future.
