I was born in 1989 and watched Star Wars (and the complete original trilogy) when I was 9 years old. Neither my parents, older sister, or friends have watched them too. (Full disclosure: I was born and live in Mexico, so the fanbase, at the time, was scattered). I remember that after a couple of summer camp friends talk about the movies I asked my dad to rent them. I was lucky enough to watch the movies (and the ESB plot twist) without a hint of what to expect. I was confused about the whole “Episode IV” thing, and couldn’t stop talking about how Vader was Luke father. Yes, that’s The Star Wars moment.
