5 Things You Need To Know About BEACH PATROL

While BEACH PATROL may be one of the most recognizable tag teams in WOW history, there’s a lot that fans don’t know about the ladies from Southern California. Don’t let the signature red one-pieces fool you, Sunny, Sandy, and Summer were a unique crew:

  1. ) These women were athletes from the beginning.

When Beach Patrol debuted, they had ‘the look.’ But there was more to the blonde beauties than just their appearance. All three women came from scholastic, athletic backgrounds. Whether it was swimming or gymnastics, sports and competition were always in the picture.

2.) If it weren’t for slow beach days, they might still be lifeguards today.

The three ladies met while working as lifeguards on Newport Beach in California. Lucky for WOW and its fans, there were a number of low key beach days when nobody needing saving. That down-time led to the event that started it all…

3.) They had that relatable, “coming out as a wrestling fan” moment too.

In the safe space that is water cooler talk with your best work-friends, Sandy went out on a limb. She confessed to Summer and Sunny that she was a pro-wrestling fan. Turns out, they were too.

4.) The women had to try out for WOW.

The ladies got the chance to take that fandom to the next level when they heard about WOW tryouts in Los Angeles. Seeing strength in numbers, Sunny, Sandy, and Summer opted to enter as a team.

5.) Their tag-team name, BEACH PATROL, is as nerdy as you think.

They got the gig. And when WOW officials asked them what their group wanted to be called, they said, “we are BEACH PATROL.” Yes, that is correct, they quoted Hulk Hogan and The Wrestling Boot Band’s lyrics and the tag team was born.
