Abso-freaking-lutely. This is why as a copywriter, I give the side-eye to any so-called persuasion tactic that is based solely on getting that click or sale. High converting copy without a strategy for long-term impact is on par with a series of one night stands: notches of empty encounters on a bedpost that will lead to nothing (but a possible STD…but I digress). If you want to have a sustainable relationship with your customer, you need to leave the pickup artist tricks in your shady past and focus on THEM, the story they’re seeking to tell about themselves, how you’ll help them tell that story, and following through on your promises. Then you’ll win a lifelong partnership.
