How a Group of Young People Are Changing the World

We live in a generation that has faced constant threats from climate, war and incompetent leadership. Crumbling beneath us is a beautiful world that has such potential. Many have given up, and who blames them? Is the world so far damaged that it can no longer be repaired?
It is time to rewrite the script.
130 young people from 48 countries have gathered at the University of Chester this week for World Merit’s annual Merit360 program to answer the same question. And their response?
There is a solution.

Merit360 looks to create an Action Plan to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals with the United Nations. Every Goal has a group working tirelessly to bring our world closer to the change it has so desperately needed.
On 26th August 2017, the inspired changemakers began their journey. In the opening session, Marlou Hermsen invited all young people to step on any toes necessary to bring about change.
Afterwards, taking to the stage were four millenials who are actively implementing last years Merit360 projects — Emil Goosen, Sabine Momma, Marina Melero, Maxime Jullian. They instilled within this years group a confirmation that their dreams, for what they wanted our world to look like, could be achieved.
Witnessing a 130 changemakers fighting for causes that matter to their countries, their communities, and their homes, is truly humbling. What is most impressive is that millions of young people will have their lives changed because of the next 12 days of work the groups will put in.
This is an event of such historic significance that to simply watch from the sidelines or from Facebook Live, makes you want to close this article, and go make a real difference in the world.
What are you waiting for?
