UNESCO designated the monastery a “World Heritage Site” in 2004. King Stefan Uros III Decanski founded it in 1327, and Stefan Uros IV Dusan completed it in 1335. Its frescoes were finalized in 1350, showcasing its creators’ exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Our expedition into the fresco’s enigmas is guided by the discerning eye of researcher César Reyes. His deep-seated intrigue with the fresco, particularly the crucifixion of Christ, has led him to unearth intriguing symbols from antiquity. For more than four decades, proponents of the Ancient Astronaut Hypothesis have been enthralled by the two mysterious objects depicted in the scene, which bear a striking resemblance to craft from the popular science fiction franchise “Star Trek.” The figures within the objects, seemingly in control, only deepen the mystery.
