WoW Foundation Launches ‘Let’s Mint!’ Program to Gift 300 Girls Their First NFT
In honor of International Day of the Girl, the World of Women Foundation is launching, ‘Let’s Mint!,’ a 10-day program activating 300 girls and women to learn about Web3 by gifting them their first NFT.
As a mission-led brand, we couldn’t be more excited by this new initiative that will allow us to give back by onboarding newcomers to Web3!
What is Day of the Girl?
October 11th has been a key global moment to celebrate the power of girls and highlight the barriers they face. This is the 10th anniversary of Day of the Girl — a chance to recognize all the progress that’s been made for girls’ rights in the last decade, but also an opportunity to highlight how much further there is to go.
Yesterday, on October 10th, World of Women highlighted key women and girls who have overcome barriers and are working towards a more equitable world. Today, we’re excited to present more opportunities in the space to bring women and girls at the forefront of Web3. You can hear that conversation here.
How will the Program work?
The program will take place across 10 days; there will be 10 different sessions, you’ll just have to pick one according to your availability. All programming will be the same, but in different timezones to accommodate for the most amount of people as possible. Dates will be announced after applications are reviewed.
During the program, you’ll get basic training from a variety of speakers and guests who will teach you:
- Basics of the Blockchain
- Rudiments of Crypto and NFTs
- How to Mint and Buy your First NFT
- How to open a Wallet
- Basic Safety and Security guidelines in Web3
You’ll also get a chance to peek inside a Metaverse, learn about the future of digital media, and have the opportunity to mint your first NFT (up to $300 USD).
Please note that:
- For the nature of this program, you must be “doxxed” (I.e. we won’t be able to accept anonymous applications) and learning about Web3 for the first time.
- You may nominate a sibling, loved one or family member; however, we ask that you have them fill out the “Questions” section to the best of their ability.
- By submitting this application, you are showing your interest in taking part in the program and you are aware that this does not guarantee you a place immediately.
- All costs that incur during the program will be covered courtesy of the WoW Foundation.
Deadline to apply is November 23rd, 2022. Participants will be selected and notified in December 2022.
Who can apply?
This program is open to anyone who identifies as female or non-binary. We are open to all ages and backgrounds.
In this market, we realize it’s important to support artists and create more opportunities where NFTs can be accessible to all. It presents an opportunity for more people to enter the space and we’re starting with Let’s Mint as a way to onboard more women and girls in the space.
