(3) WHY IN THE HELL IS THE WORLD SO BACKWARDS??? šŸ¤”

What’s up y’all! I’m back again and I hope y’all had a good weekend and had a great time partying, socializing and watching the superbowl. I want to send a shout out to my hometown team, the Panthers for a hard fought game. Now I must admit I am a Cowboys fan FIRST (1995 was the Panthers first season in Charlotte, NC and at that point I was already 10 years into being a Cowboy via my family) but I gotta give it up to the black, silver and blue for the 15–1 historic regular season for the franchise. Also, congrats to Peyton Manning for getting his 2nd ringā€Šā€”ā€Ša really great guyā€Šā€” and also Von Miller who was an absolute BEAST! If you’ve never seen the story of the Manning family you should DEFINITELY check it out: http://youtu.be/xHid78Sib9Y. (So goodšŸ‘šŸ¾).

Ok back on topic….has anyone else noticed that things are backwards nowadays in the world or maybe within yourself? Catch 22 like? Almost at times hypocritical? Like how sometimes you realize later how hypocritical your own actions/beliefs were after the fact and were like: ā€œshitā€¦ā€? For me one of the things I’m hypocritical about is bananas. Yea, bananas right? šŸŒ.

First of all, just about every other fruit has juice…by itselfā€Šā€”ā€Šbananas don’t really…wierd to me. Yes, you can have strawberry banana juice, but I haven’t heard a SOUL drink just banana juice. Yes, a fruit is:

but damnit, a fruit for most of my life was ā€œsomething that made its own juiceā€ lol. My thing is I don’t really like bananas by themselves but I LOVE banana pudding. Ain’t that some shit?? Now it’s gotta have the 50/50 pudding-wafferage ratio tho Fa sho, but let’s be honest: totally hypocritical because they are both bananas and I’m kinda ā€œanti-bananaā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. I also find myself in situations where I was like: ā€œI just TOTALLY saw that going differently in my headā€ by trying to do the right thing.

Ok the first things that come to mind are (in any particular order):

  1. Education: High student loan cost to even get an education and move forward/teachers pay very low for the importance (catch 22ish/backwards)
  2. In relationshipsā€Šā€”ā€ŠI could go on and on about this but I’ll touch on a couple of things šŸ¤”šŸ’Æ
  3. The National debt: The government's FICO score is worse than any individual American (backwards/hypocritical)
  4. Any other ones I come with while I’m writing lol

Now I just thought of this example to start off with: my family heritage is Hispanic (my mother is half PR and half black) and when I see Hispanic people, I say ā€œhelloā€ in Spanish, or ā€œque pasoā€, right? I’m a people personā€Šā€”ā€Šnothing too crazy. Now I didn’t realize that a friendly informal Spanish phrase would make some Hispanics frown (roughly 30% of them not too much). I really saw that going differently in my head:

What I realized (through help of friends and some trial and error) is that some Hispanics maybe take it as ā€œmockingā€ and it wasn’t until I came up with the solution of saying: ā€œMi madre es boricuaā€ to have a connection, do I see some ā€œcloudyā€ faces become mostly sunny once again with an 100% chance of ā€œhola mi amigo!ā€.

The only thing I could compare this to was someone Hispanic coming up to me and being like: ā€œwhat up?ā€ in the ā€œblackest accentā€ they could think of and they didn’t know me lol. I personally would laugh my ass off but that’s the only way I could get the other perspective and perception.

Ok so with away with number 1: High student loans/teacher pay. When I was growing up I was taught to get an education and to support myself because the world doesn’t meet you half way. We definitely struggled coming up and if you did, I’m pretty sure schooling was of the utmost importance to get you out of your situationā€Šā€”ā€Šor ball or trap…one or the other. You can call the ā€œcliche policeā€ on me right now but the proof is in the pudding, banana pudding: knowledge is actually power and throughout the years I noticed how expensive schooling wasā€Šā€”ā€Šand how quickly it got there. I went from reduced lunch to being in student loan debt VERY quickly.
So basically you are trying to get education to better yourself and to support yourself but in a lot of ways you are worse off financially (as far as net worth is) after college. What kinda shit is that? Let’s be real, not many of us have positive net worths due to student loans and that’s the tragedy. How are you gonna get ahead by going backwards financially?
Someone fucked up big time lol. I know plenty of doctors with 100–200k in student loansā€Šā€”ā€Šit’s NOT a game.

Now on to my teachers: Oh how I love my favorite teachersā€Šā€”ā€Šyou know who you are.

Teachers practically raise our kids because parents work harder and longer hours than ever. Daycares are making a KILLING with money because of it. Some people pay $500 in childcare a month, per child. Teachers make low wages but spend the most time trying to mold the kids to be great members of societyā€Šā€”ā€Šwhich is priceless and easier said than done. By teachers, I mean coaches, mentors, teachers etc. I have had very influential teachers and coaches to help me get to where I am today. I couldn’t have done it without them. I was a 3 sport athlete in HS and I did chorus and also hip hop dance (my friends have seen me unleash my inner chris brown on occasionšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Œ) so I was constantly being taught many new skills. That’s a lot of time that people invested in me making me better and giving me rides, etc. The thought of those people doing such valuable work for low wages makes me like šŸ¤”šŸ¤” but I respect these people so much because they are the epitome of ā€œawesomenessā€ and ā€œsacrificeā€. At this point if I meet a woman and shes a teacher, she gets a shot with me for real. Chances are, her character and heart is in the right place. If we are going to make wages coincide with salary, teachers and doctors should get paid about the same. Teachers spend the most time with the America’s kids.
I know I got up at 6am to catch the bus at 7am and was in school until 2:30 pm and had practice until like 6pm and had hw and was in bed by like 10pm after calculus, english and history homework in HS. That didn’t leave much time for family time during the week but I saw teachers for hours a day. So yea, teachers getting paid crap for the way they shape generations is backwards and inside out to me.

Ok number 2, relationships:

I’m a man so I’m going with a male perspective mostly so miss me with the ā€œfeministā€/ā€sexistā€ accusations lol. I don’t see how a person can be ā€œtoo niceā€. I hear women say shit like that and I immediately think that she’s psycho. So you want a man to be MORE mean to you? Isn’t ā€œmeanā€ a negative quality? Aren’t you looking for POSITIVE QUALITIES in a mate? I know I am. I ain’t gonna be with a mean woman, fuck that. Doesn’t make sense to me and if your respect yourself, it shouldn’t make sense to you. I thought you wanted your ā€œDisney knightā€, ladies?

First of all, ladies, fairy tales are fairy tales for the same reason they are called ā€œFAIRY TALESā€ā€Šā€”ā€Šthey don’t exist anywhere but in a book or imagination so there’s your catch 22 right there. Searching for something that doesn’t exist and blaming the other person when you can’t find it isn’t anyone’s fault but your own. Love isn’t perfect, it’s real, there’s a difference. I teach my little sister to be realistic, and to manage expectations of what your partner can be for you. It’s unrealistic to expect someone to be your ā€œeverythingā€ā€Šā€”ā€Šthat’s just a Luther Vandross song off of the movie ā€œmoney talksā€ā€Šā€”ā€Šone of my favorite movies by the way:

Don’t be too in love with the IDEA of who you THINK someone isā€Šā€”ā€Šthat will wear off over time and so will the ā€œinfatuationā€ phase.

The truth is you can be kind and not a pushover (yes that is what women mean by a man being ā€œtoo niceā€ sometimes) but what kind of woman tests a man’s manhood anyways? Not any woman I would dateā€Šā€”ā€ŠGTFOH with your head games and disrespect. I’m not HUGE into the bible but 1st corinthians 13 states the TRUTH when it says: ā€œLove is patient, love is kind.ā€
That kind of ā€œhe’s too niceā€ thinking backwards as hellā€Šā€”ā€Šit’s not logical to want someone to be ā€œmeanerā€. If you want someone to ā€œcheckā€ you, maybe you should check yourself and start respecting the other person, cause the truth is:
**people are going to do what they want anyways**

You can’t control other people, no matter how much you try. If they are gonna cheat, they gonna cheat.

And go ahead, tell ya pops you want a meaner man…he gonna look at you like you are as wrong as 2 left shoesšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. If chivalry is dead it’s partly because these types of women out here have contributed to killing it:

These women are so used to chasing the wrong guys that they don’t know what to do with the right one. It happens with us men too so don’t be fooled. THIS SHIT IS BACKWARDS! What is going on nowadays? Can’t we act like we were 12 again and we just like people for who they are?

Now I’m a HUGE fan of chivalry:

I believe in opening doors for women, and being courteous and a gentleman. I have been known to give up my seat for a femaleā€Šā€”ā€Šthat’s how I was raised. That’s a little lesson in ā€œsacrificeā€ that I think we all could learn fromā€Šā€”ā€Šputting others before oneself. Everyone has their scars and issues, including me but please, PLEASE for the love of God don’t end up being like this woman:

Now it’s not ALL women but I’ve heard a lot of stories in my day about the kind of girls who be chasing guys they don’t even like who treat them like shit and don’t show them the attention and SOMEHOW it makes the girl go crazy over him (and crazy).

That’s another backwards thing: I’ve done a few experiments in which I’ve been nice but ā€œindifferentā€ towards the ā€œbaddestā€ girl in the room, and for SOME reason that got her attention because she’s used to guys being all on her. At that point, she has tried to make me jealous with other guys from across the room and I’m just happy as hell socializing with my vodka n’ cran and I could care less because I’m too busy enjoying myself and not engaging in ā€œchildish competitionā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Trust me, for some reason it works. Idk why.

Shout out to all of the women who are ā€œnormalā€ and genuine and who appreciate good men who just like to be, you know: normal Perhaps? Or Human? Go on girl!

Ok Catch 22: The infamous ā€œDo I look fat in this?ā€ Timeout. TIME OUT! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. 100% of the time the answer, men, is ā€œnoā€ but the real answer is probably ā€œmaybeā€ or ā€œyesā€. If you feel fat, you probably are. I consider myself a pretty honest person and I’ve even realized over the years that, there’s being ā€œhonestā€ and there’s being ā€œsmartā€šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. You gotta think about the ā€œbest outcomeā€ when dealing with women, not honesty: sometimes women want you to lie to them and if a lie makes a person feel good feel good from time to time, I don’t see a problem with itā€Šā€”ā€Šgood intentionsšŸ‘šŸ¾.

Now some women just compare themselves to other women too much and are just fine (thank you mediaā€Šā€”ā€Špreciate itšŸ˜’). I personally don’t think most 100 pound models are all that attractive…face, ok but it’s nice to have more than that. Now I have my preferences but whether you are 100 pounds or 300 pounds be proud of you, boo boo. Do youšŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ™ŒšŸ¾.

Number 3, the national debt:

Oh boy. This is a good one. Idk how the government is coming after good, hardworking people for late student loan payments to hurt their credit score when their FICO score is like -5,000,000,000,000. C’mon son. THAT’S backwards to go after someone for not paying a debt when YOUR debt isn’t in order. The government is over 19 trillion dollars in debt!

It took me 6 seconds to zoom in for this next national debt clock pic and the debt went up by $147,917…that’s roughly $24,652.83:

The national average of student loan debt for the most in debted class ever (the class of 2015 with a little more than $35,000) would be gone in a little less than 2 seconds:

http://www.wsj.com/articles/BL-REB-32365

The fact that banks were bailed out and not the peopleā€Šā€”ā€Šthat’s backwards. It would be nice for our student loans to be bailed out, America, so that we can go to work for you to make U.S. (see what I did there?šŸ˜Ž) better again. In debt and no avenues to make America better and we are in wars that take even more money.

Can I have a small bomb’s worth of student loan relief please??

As you can see, I spy a few things around me that are backwards and catch 22ish. I’ve even shined the light on myself at times but I think the key is to stay up on the issues and to speak up and not be silent about what’s going on. That’s one of the reasons I write: to have a voice in the things I see that can be changed for the better. They say the first step is changing something acknowledging that there is a problem. I also notice that we encourage people to be themselves but when they are, there is scrutiny behind it because in actuality, we selfishly want them to be our version of that person’s self to make us happyā€Šā€”ā€Šnot really fair if you think about it…kinda backwards. I’ll always be a fan of this quote:

ā€œBe who you are and say how you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mindā€

And

ā€œFor every action there is an equal and opposite criticismā€

Aight y’all thanks for listening. Just wanted to point out a few things I’ve noticed about this topic. Until next time,

Hasta Luego. Make it a great one!
