I personally think the adversarial system (as exists in the US) isn’t the best for deciding sexual assault cases. I think an inquisitorial system — where a judge properly trained in deciding sexual assault cases takes the lead in investigating the facts of the case— would be better. I agree there need to be better developed options outside the criminal justice system too.
