What a bizarre claim. Since violent crime rates (including murders, including murdering and other crimes involving guns) reached their peak in the early 1990s the number of firearms legally owned by civilians has skyrocketed, and laws restricting both their possession both at home and in public have dramatically loosened. And yet not only have the aforementioned violent crime rates been cut nearly in HALF since those changes have occurred, the numbers of fatalities/serious injuries from accidental shootings have also been dramatically reduced.
