Thanks for the laughs this morning — you’re hilarious! That being said, it was always tradition in my family to have both pumpkin and apple pies, always made from scratch by my mother. There were times she had actually mashed the pulp from our Halloween pumpkin for the pie, but that became too labor-intense and time-consuming, and she switched to canned pulp. It was delicious, actually, but became verboten for me when a milk allergy reared its ugly head. We lived in the Midwest, which might be part of the “why pumpkin pie.” Regional (and cultural) differences in traditions is always interesting to observe, and I love how you turned it into great humor! 😂😎💕
