The hippie Christian cult that encouraged sex with children is still around today
Stephanie Buck

The differences between COG and any religion is a matter of degree. By the strict definition of “cult,” EVERY religion is a cult.::

cult kəlt/ noun

  1. a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object. Misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing. (Think “god” or “Jesus” or “the virgin Mary”or Mohammed or “yaweh” or “John Smith” or “The Almighty Dollar” or fill in the blank…)

The sexual aspect of COG might titillate and seduce us into thinking it is some kind of anomaly, but EVERY religion perverts human nature by gaslighting its “believers” into abdicating their own intuitive guidance and direct connection to nature and the universe, insisting it is necessary or pious to defer to a “higher” authority.

Authentic spiritual experience is direct. It is our birthright to define our own experience, spiritual and otherwise. The moment we accept that a middle man is required to facilitate spiritual experience, we are lost to whatever cult of “believers” is telling us so.

If someone tells you you’ll burn in hell as a blasphemer, start listening for what they’re trying to sell you — starting with what they’ve already sold themselves.
