As I alluded to in the article, I used to write for a small computer magazine, and I did three reviews a month for each issue. That might not seem like a lot, but it still had me racing through the latest games at a breakneck pace. This was around the end of the PS2/beginning of the 360 era.

That leap from game to game was a common thing even for hardcore game consumers in the early days of the 360. But I think that type of consumer is practically non-existent these days. Games do so much more to be long-lasting experiences now that it’s a disservice to spend a short time with a game.

The most miraculous stuff in fast-paced critique right now comes out of Karak/ACG on Youtube. He’s playing through a ton of games, and then he analyzes them in a very complex manner with relatively lengthy video reviews. I’m not sure how he keeps up the dedication.
