I’m always happy when the HRM-6’s or the 5’s come up, because I feel like a lot of people shot right over them in their dogged quest to buy the M50X’s.

If I were listening to music only and never planned to use the microphone, I wouldn’t personally buy a gaming headset at all. I’d instead be looking first at the Creative Aurvana Live, Koss Porta Pro, or KPH30i. Or failing that, perhaps even the M20X.
