I’m super excited to be able to share something that I’ve been working on recently, Kubernetes the hard way on Azure! This is a fork of Kelsey Hightower’s really awesome tutorial, translated to use Azure instead of Google Cloud Platform. I can’t possibly give enough credit to Kelsey for putting the original tutorial together. It’s absolutely the gold standard for learning about all of the components of Kubernetes, and it was the thing that taught me about all these moving parts too. I simply wanted to take that same process, and expand the offering to another cloud!

This tutorial follows pretty much exactly what Kelsey’s was doing, just using Azure CLI commands. There are a couple small differences due to how the Azure CLI differs from Google’s, most notable being that the worker nodes need to have external IP addresses for this one, but otherwise things look largely the same.

The repo is up now right HERE. Notice that there’s a couple issues there opened by me (I’m looking for some collaborators here! 😊). Definitely file any issues as you may come across them, this is a work in progress for now.

If you get the chance to try it out, let me know how it goes! (Use the comments, or @ me on Twitter here!)
