Sustainability is a response to planetary destruction or ecological collapse. The term may have been co-opted for small recycling campaigns and such, but in a general sense, it encapsulates the allowing of all living things to exist.

But I do understand your position. I cannot stand the phrase “Climate Change” for it was coined by Republicans to greatly deflate and obfuscate the issue and it is now standard, having been adopted by many sincere environmentalists. Anthropocentric climate disruption or global warming seem to be much better descriptions.
