An Online Collaborative Strategy Game
Rebuild.Y2123 is a multiplayer online collaborative strategy game, where players race against time to save Earth from climate change. The game combines utility-focused NFTs with scenario-based gameplay.
Unlike other on-chain games out there, Rebuild.Y2123’s original gameplay focuses on collaborative competition for a common goal — to restore balance and rebuild our planet.
The information and details spelled out in this whitepaper are subject to change as the game evolves and improves over time.

Story
The year is 2123… The Arctic sea ice has melted past a tipping point, bringing rising sea levels and flooding coastal islands. Deforestation has destroyed what used to be lush zones of green. The earth has gotten hotter with intense heat waves and unpredictable periods of bitter cold. The air is hot, heavy, and clogged with pollutants. Gone are the forests, trees, and soil that we could rely on to trade toxins for fresh air. Oceans have become hostile to marine creatures, upsetting the biodiversity both on land and in the sea.
Despite pushing earth past its limits, scientists are starting a rallying cry — we have one last opportunity to rebuild the world we destroyed. One where we rewrite the rules of survival. One where we adapt to the relentless taunts of nature. One where we start learning to live with the environment and the creatures that are adapting alongside us. One where we have a chance to recreate a new world and rewrite our story. Hopefully, one that doesn’t involve extinction.
This is when ordinary citizens around the world step up to the challenge, become Citizen Scientists, and race against time to save what’s left from climate change.
Missions Overview
Rebuild.Y2123’s gameplay and roadmap is expansive, and will be launched in phases, starting with Mission Phase 1 shortly after the launch of our Genesis: Explorer collection.
Rebuilding our planet is an extremely risky and laborious endeavor. However, it can also be highly rewarding for those who work together. We will rebuild our planet in 3 mission phases.
Mission Phase 1: Attack and Defend (launching after Genesis: Explorers is sold out)
- Likeminded Citizen Scientists come together to form clans — 3 clans are created. Clan leaders are randomly appointed with a Clan Token during mint.
- Coordinate as a clan to Attack and Defend against other clans to earn rewards.
Mission Phase 2: Reclaim and Protect (launch date TBC)
- Y2123 World Map is revealed
- Reclaim land and sea that was once fertile and productive.
Mission Phase 3: Rebuild and Thrive (launch date TBC)
- Restore balance to the ecosystem by sequestering carbon.
- Rebuild complex and delicate ecosystems lost to climate change.
Citizen Scientists
definition: A member of the general public who collects and analyses data relating to the natural world, typically as part of a collaborative project with professional scientists.
Citizen Scientist NFTs are the key characters in our game, and ownership of at least 1 Citizen Scientist NFT is required to access Rebuild.Y2123. We will be launching our project with 500 Genesis: Explorers Citizen Scientist NFTs
Minting: Launching with 500 Genesis: Explorers. They will have exclusive traits.
Staking: All Citizen Scientists are paid 1 $OXGN/day for their contribution to saving the World.
Claiming: Saving the World requires a lot of resources. To support this effort, all Citizen Scientists have to pay a 20% tax to the leading clan. If you are in the leading clan, the tax is still collected and paid to your clan. Tokens will be distributed to all players in the clan, prorated by the number of Citizen Scientists owned.
Also, we are introducing a first-ever donation feature for a blockchain game. Now you can have the option to donate some of your earned tokens to a worthy cause. Donations are deducted before you are taxed for claiming. This means you receive an instant tax deduction on your donations. You can give any $OXGN amount you wish.
For example:
- No donation: Claim 10 $OXGN. Pay 20% tax (2 $OXGN). You receive 8 $OXGN.
- With donation: Claim 10 $OXGN. Donate 2 $OXGN, left with 8 $OXGN. Pay 20% tax (1.6 $OXGN). You receive 6.4 $OXGN.
Donations will be collected in a separate wallet and made public for transparency. We will work closely with our Marine Biologist Advisor (featured on VICE News) to shortlist reputable projects, before letting our community vote on the final recipient.
Unstaking: Venturing out on your own is extremely dangerous. You will need to have at least 2 $OXGN to protect yourself from unpredictable weather. Even so, there is a 50% chance of all accumulated $OXGN being lost to a violent storm.
Clans
There will be 3 clans when the game is released. Clan leaders are randomly chosen and given a clan token. The clan token can be transferred to a more capable leader at any time.
As a Citizen Scientist:
- Join a clan by staking your Citizen Scientist, but choose your clan wisely, and your clan leader even more carefully. Joining a clan with great teamwork will reap bountiful rewards.
- Players in the same clan must collaborate and compete with other clans, with the common goal to help your own clan achieve financial and (future) territorial dominance.
- Earn in-game rewards ($OXGN) when your clan wins
As a Citizen Scientist Clan Leader:
- Lead your clan by organizing a coordinated decision against other clans.
- Earn Y2123 fame by getting your clan to the top spot on the leaderboard, earning even more tokens for your clan members which will benefit your clan greatly when Mission Phase 2 is released.
Gameplay
Mission Phase 1: Attack and Defend
Those who fight together, stake together.
The first release of Rebuild.Y2123’s gameplay will be Attack and Defend.
Attack and Defend is a collaborative decision-based game, where each player’s decision is synchronously executed at the same time. Each player is given a time window to make those decisions before the execution.
This means at the start of the game, every player is given a limited time window to make their decision. When the time window ends, decisions for every player in the clan are aggregated and executed synchronously against other clans. The results of those decisions will be tallied, and a winning clan will emerge. The game will then repeat for another cycle.
This means the clan leader must organize the clan to make a coordinated decision, and clan members must collaborate with each other and their clan leader for a common goal. Players in top clans will be handsomely rewarded.

To participate in the game, you’ll need to have at least one Citizen Scientist staked in a clan, with at least 2 days worth of unclaimed tokens.

Timeline for launch:
- Genesis Explorers mint date: 19 Dec, 11am ETC
- Launch staking: Mint date + 1 week
- Launch mission phase 1: Staking + 2 weeks
NFT Type: Citizen Scientists
In order to make sure our game is inclusive and has longevity, there will be a total of 60,000 Citizen Scientist NFTs, minted over 6 batches:
Batch 1.0: 500 Genesis: Explorer NFTs (0.063 ETH)
Batch 1.1: 9,500 Genesis: Pioneer and Genesis: Settler NFTs
*collectively known as Generation 1 Citizen Scientist NFTs
Batch 2: 10,000 Generation 2 Citizen Scientist NFTs ($OXGN)
Batch 3: 10,000 Generation 3 Citizen Scientist NFTs ($OXGN)
Batch 4: 10,000 Generation 4 Citizen Scientist NFTs ($OXGN)
Batch 5: 10,000 Generation 5 Citizen Scientist NFTs ($OXGN)
Batch 6: 10,000 Generation 6 Citizen Scientist NFTs ($OXGN)
- Genesis: Explorer NFTs will have exclusive traits to reward our early supporters.
- Genesis NFT owners will receive future benefits and perks in the game and community.
- Only Generation 1 will be minted with ETH. Future generations will be minted with $OXGN, our in-game currency.
- All Generations will include a mix of Explorers, Pioneers, and Settlers.
- Citizen Scientists with male characteristics will be introduced at some phase. It will be a surprise!
- Explorers are the rarest, followed by Pioneers, with Settlers forming the majority of the Citizen Scientists.
- Generation 2 to 6 will be sold in $OXGN tokens. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
NFT Type: Others (to be revealed)
As we expand and release our game in phases, there will be other types of NFTs introduced to enrich gameplay and further benefit our community. Listed below is a high-level breakdown of future NFT releases. Do note that we are at a very early stage of the game, and this is subject to revision for improvement.

NFT type 3: 90,000 total supply ($OXGN)

OXGN Tokens
1 $OXGN = 1 $OXGN
$OXGN (oxygen) tokens are our in-game currency. You will earn $OXGN tokens by staking your Citizen Scientist NFTs.
$OXGN tokens are used for minting future NFT collections, as well as rewarding winners and our community members.
$OXGN tokens will also be used for development team incentives, marketing, and future fundraising.
