The Brexit Saga Continues, But What About Your Supply Chain?

Just when we thought there might be a final decision; we are thrown back into uncertainty. Days before the Brexit deadline, the EU has granted a three-month flexible extension, this additional time will be used by the UK to negotiate a deal that will keep our supply chains efficient and competitive. However, until the upcoming General Election has taken place we won't be certain as to the type of deal we can expect.
For most companies, this level of uncertainty would cause panic, but we take it all in our stride. We monitor all updates related to Brexit and complete all relevant documentation ahead of time to prevent any delay in our clients’ deliveries.
Your Logistics Consultant
We are not just a delivery service; we are logistics experts that use a consultative approach to pass on our industry knowledge. We arrange regular face-to-face meetings with our clients to reassure them that our service will not be affected by Brexit.
Alongside this, we have been providing consultancy to other logistics companies to prepare them for Brexit and explain how Brexit will impact their operations. We believe in an open knowledge exchange between companies so that the wider community will thrive.
Future Trading Relationship
There’s a lot of concern around the UK losing trade when Brexit happens, however, the EU is a major trading partner for the UK; the value of our trade with the Union stands at nearly £360 million and 47% of the goods we exported in 2015 went to the EU.
The EU will want to agree on a good trade negotiation deal with the UK to keep the current supply of goods instead of using another trade partner which may not have the same rate or service. This recent grant for a delay is not only for our benefit but for theirs as well, to keep a constant trade flow.
We are positive that the UK will remain a major trade partner with the EU and we will be on hand to deliver the goods. Not only this, it will be more important than ever for the UK to trade more often with the rest of the world and the FTA is making a case for investments into our ports and rail links and converting Heathrow into an air cargo hub, increasing our ability to handle larger shipments. This opens the door to even more trade opportunities to countries worldwide, which would be brilliant for the UK. YSDS has offices and experts based across the world and we have vast experience working with countries outside of the EU and have the procedures in place for importing and exporting into different countries.
Our global links and industry knowledge make us the perfect partner for specialist deliveries. If you would like advice on Brexit or have specialist items that need an efficient delivery, then please get in touch today!
