Reading your Slides
These 13 Bad Speaking Habits Are Killing Your Credibility
Larry Kim

This is perhaps the one that’s the easiest to fix and the hardest to miss. Anyone, even the least interested person in the room will know if you;re just yapping off a slide. Do yourself a favor and don’t do that. Even if you don’t have the best punch lines, the wittiest come backs to a question, the best smile in the room, you can still be an effective speaker, if you look like you know your shit! So do that. Make visual slides, not text heavy ones and just have enough there for a person to look at something — but don’t give away everything that you wanted to say on the slide. If it’s all on the slide, then what are you there for!
