I Wish I Were Different

I wish I were different

Like all those small things with greater value

I wish I could rise

Beyond my arrogance and selfish hue

I wish I was…

mmm…

A candlelight that can lighten up the dark

A rainbow that paints colours in heart

A droplet of drizzle, perhaps, pouring joy all over

Like first flake of snow in a layer of air as I hover

I really I wish I were different…

Much more Mature at heart…

Like that wise old tree shading the harsh summer sun

Hopeful in wintery chills, even when the leaves are all gone

Like that ever flowing river, moving without complaints

Bravely changing courses when hindered by stony giants

I wish I were different…

Different than the way I am at all…

Like the gentle breeze…

Touching … every single soul
