The Blockchain Paradox or (Why I Quit the “Real” World)
As we uncover something new in the world, something old inside of us dies.
The process of acquiring knowledge is also a process of clearing out ignorance, not in the traditional sense of learning but in a deeper more heart centered “knowing” as they say:
“When you know you know”
It seems that the more educated we become the more apathetic we grow towards certain disturbing circumstances in our environment.
In my personal experience as I concern myself less with material wealth, status and possessions I gain a deeper sense of feeling, connection to others and sense of purpose. As I leave the old behind I uncover what truly matters to me and see clearly how I want to spend my limited time on this earth.
This feeling of breaking free is at once liberating and terrifying, as my whole life I’ve struggled to define myself by things outside of my control instead of uncovering what was within. A part of me is scared of the possibilities, scared of leaving behind all i’ve known, all i’ve worked for. This sense of Un-centralized fear is paralyzing exactly because you can’t pinpoint it’s source.
This is the fear that keeps us trapped in shitty jobs and abusive relationships and ultimately costs us our lives.
A fear of snakes is relatively easy to deal with, don’t go into the jungle or the petting zoo but a fear of thoughts, your own or others, is inescapable.
Where can you go that thoughts won’t follow?
Thoughts are something you simply cannot escape.
Then again “escape” is entirely the wrong way of looking at it, that is the old way of processing uncomfortable situations. Perhaps “control” is better but I’m afraid, not entirely accurate…
Thoughts are not some boon to run from, they are a powerful tool that you have at your disposal if you learn to manage them they can lift you up to the tops of mountains, if not they can cast you down into the shadows.
At 30 I’m only just beginning to understand the ramifications of conscious thought. The scariest part is that it’s not at all clear what’s next for me. There are very few guides that can help you find the way, or maybe entirely too many. The responsibility to figure life out rests on you alone. To find a way of overcoming negative thoughts and paralyzing feelings of comparison, that is the deep work that needs doing.
I have no answers. I literally have nothing, nothing to lose, nothing to gain which is perhaps the greatest discovery of my past few years of searching. With nothing to loose you are motivated by purer intentions (curiosity, experience, camaraderie) Having no money, no prestige, no title, no degree, no background to speak of allows me to go as green Kermit into any endeavor without feeling embarrassed or ashamed.
I mean Fuck It, why not?
At my core I enjoying being helpful and feeling valued as a part of a community, if I can help change the world for the better along the way then I would consider it time well spent. As long as people are trying to change things I will continue living, trying, putting myself out there time and time again to discover the possibilities.
This where Blockchain and Decentralized Governance literally swept me off my feet. The possibilities that come with this technology are so far and wide that I won’t even attempt to list them here. The point is: at the moment Blockchain is one of the most imperative thing that anyone in this generation can contribute to. It’s a chance to change things, to shape the future in the way we see fit.
We have before, we can again, we have to simply stand up and fight for what we believe in and then begin to exist in the reality we want.

To create a new world you must first live it.
A term I discovered recently sums this up perfectly “dogfooding”:to use your own product. If you want to live in a new world with a new way of operating and communicating with coworkers, friends, financial institutions and government agencies, you can because there is nothing stopping you!
It won’t be easy, no is going pat you on the back people. Most people will likely ridicule you and laugh in your face for giving up “all you had” but you’ll know in your heart that you have taken the first step towards living the most genuine version of your life.
You’ll know it because you it won’t feel like anything you’ve done before, it will fulfill an internal need that has gone unaddressed your whole life, the need everyone of us suffers from, the need to be a part of something greater.
If you don’t rise to the call of a broken political system, of corrupt financial institutions, of the systematic oppression of your fellow man, then for you there really is no hope. There is no amount of “things” that will fill the hole created by these atrocities. No-Thing!
We are here to co-exist, to help each other, to learn from one another and to advance the human race together, not in the way we have been though, not by stepping on each other to get to the top. That is not the way, we have learned enough in the past 200+ years as the industrial revolution ravaged our sense of self worth and our connection to the earth to know that fighting for swathes of land and clear cutting forests ultimately does more damage to the collective population than it it does to advance one groups well being.
We cannot rise independently, we must rise collectively or face extinction like so many of our forefathers.
Who knows, maybe the reality is that we will all be extinct in a few hundred years regardless. Perhaps nature truly is the goddess of death we feared for so many millennia.
Once it’s had enough of our nonsense it might wipe us out and start again 100,000 years from now when the ice melts, clearing every last remnant of our tragic culture from the surface of the planet. Some cosmonautic explorer from the future will come along and discover our jails and our schools and our cities and see them as one in the same. A way of neutralizing freedom, of sterilizing thought, feeling and experience.
Make no mistake, this is a revolution and it has only just begun.
We have scratched the surface of real change with the possibilities unlocked by Blockchain technologies.
A WARNING: You have to know that the people most invested in protecting the old system will fight it tooth and nail, they will say “don’t let computers take our jobs, don’t let machines run our world” but these people have forgotten what it truly means to live and ultimately they will be the ones most liberated by our discoveries.
The earth is a fully synchronized network of nodes, running on codes and laws hardwired into its fabric, connected at every corner by neural pathways of Avatar proportion. It is the only system that has real power to control the future and we are simply a bad case of termites chewing through it’s resources at an alarming rate. With automated technology we are only just catching up, we are here to experience life and commune with the earth and each other not work ourselves into early graves.
I look forward to the day when we can live as the birds in the sky or monkeys of the forest. Where life is more of a pursuit of passions and leisure, with tribal families and time spent pondering things so much deeper than insurance policies and account balances.
I welcome the laughs and the rejection that are in store for me, because I know one day my children, perhaps their children will thank us for changing the way everything was done and making the world once again a beautiful place to exist.
