rabbit rabbit !

自從英國朋友告訴我這個習俗,每次再見到卜洛克老先生發文,我總會心一笑,想起那位朋友,以及我有趣而且生活大逆轉的這兩年。

Met a friend from London last year in Bangkok. He told me they always say “rabbits” to each other on 1st of the month. I told him that Lawrence Block always do that on FB and I don’t know why. He said he don’t know why just doing this many years. And then he google that and found the answer: it means “good luck”.

We still say “rabbit rabbit” every month.

“Rabbit rabbit rabbit” is one variant of a superstition found in Britain and North America that states that a person should say or repeat the word “rabbit” or “rabbits”, or “white rabbits”, or some combination of these elements, out loud upon waking on the first day of the month, because doing so will ensure good luck for the duration of that month.
