Eclipse Oxygen is about to hit the road, and this release keeps you up-to-date with the latest Eclipse and Java technologies, adding support for the new Eclipse release as well as the latest Java 9 candidates.

Based on your feedback, we were also able to iron out a couple of bugs and usability issues after updating the Launcher frontend in the previous release. Try it out at https://yatta.de/profiles.

New Features

Oxygen ready: Install your Eclipse Oxygen from https://www.yatta.de/profiles/hub?packages (as soon it’s come out on June 28th).

Improved Profile installer: We updated our installation engine under the hood to improve both reliability and speed of the install process.

Improved Linux compatibility: We fixed an issue with our new Chromium engine that affected some Linux distributions, causing startup problems with the Launcher.

Edit Profile settings during installation: You can now begin customizing the settings of your Eclipse Profile while its installation is still running. We fixed an issue that previously caused the Profile to be lost from your Launcher list.

Disabled Launcher auto-hide/show: The Launcher no longer closes itself when you start a Profile, and it no longer pops up unwanted when you exit your Eclipse. — Sorry for any inconvenience — we are working on further UX improvements!

Edit Hub Profile description in the Launcher: We fixed an issue that prevented you from changing the description of your online Profiles if they weren’t installed locally.

Fixed Windows scaling: You can now use the Launcher with DPI settings above 100%. We fixed an issue with Chromium’s High DPI scaling support that made the Launcher UI overflow over its window bounds.

Fixed online deletion: Installed online Profiles are now correctly marked as offline when they are deleted remotely on the Hub.

Improved Profile state tooltips: The meaning of the colors and icons showing the Profile states in the Launcher wasn’t always clear enough. We improved the tooltips to let you know what’s up with each Profile.
