A STON.fi Guide: How to create a TON wallet
In this article, I will walk you through the process of creating your own TON Wallet, making it easy for newcomers to dive into the world of decentralized finance on the TON blockchain.
Step 1:
TON has so many wallets supporting it on the TON blockchain such as Tonkeeper, Toncoin Wallet, TonHub, TonSpace, MyTOnWallet and so on. We will create a mobile version of Tonkeeper wallet in this guide.
Step 2:
Get on your App Store or Google Play Store to download the Tonkeeper App by searching “Tonkeeper”. This tutorial will make use of App Store. What a Tonkeeper mobile app looks like is show here ⬇️
Step 3:
Launch the Tonkeeper app and click on “Create New Wallet” to get started.
Step 4:
Create 4 pin password for security purpose by tapping on “create new password”.
You will be required to input the password twice to ensure you have the same password input right.
Step 5:
“Enable notification”: this will automatically notify you as soon as you receive tokens or NFTs. You can click on “Later” at the top right corner to proceed without turning on notification.
Step 6:
Your wallet is created and ready to used. But, note that it’s not secured until you back up your wallet. Tap on “Back up the wallet recovery phrase” to get your secret phrase. This secret phrase has 24 words and they are meant to be kept in a safe place.
Step 7:
Tap on “Check Backup” to back up you phrase. This will take you to a page where you will be instructed to input three random words according to the required number from the phrase you previously generated. This tutorial requires words 9,16 and 22.
Step 8:
For extra security and easy access whenever you want to log into your Tonkeeper wallet, you can simple add “Face ID” or any other security measure your mobile device possess.
Congratulations on setting up your first TON wallet. It is ready to use!!!
Make sure that your secret phrase is secured and no other person than you should have access to it.
