Retaining a Lawyer for Sexual Assault Survivor
Ok…so after….4/5 months of searching for legal representation… I finally have some good news. I can retain Surv Justice to do a Clery Act Complaint for $250 and/or get a local Pittsburgh lawyer on a hybrid basis to investigate my case and pursue allegations against CMU for mishandling my case and potentially against the original perpetrator.
A lot of people, upon writing my original blog Carnegie Mellon University: Empowering my Rapist and Revictimizing Me- The story of how CMU banned me because my rapist feels uncomfortable, asked how they could take action. I was asked if I would accept donations and recommend people donate to Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) instead since I didn’t know what I would be doing at the time and didn’t want to arbitrarily accept anything.
Now that I do have a game plan and course of action, I humbly ask you to donate to my Generosity campaign so that I can afford legal representation.
$250 gets me the Clery Act complaint
$10K gets me a lawyer up to the trial
$50K gets me a lawyer if a trial is necessary
Any funds not put toward’s my case will be distributed to the foundation of Resource for Recourse (a non-profit that I’m starting with the help of Dreamspace so other survivors can get legal advocacy and representation.)
Thank-you for your support and encouragement ❤
