I stopped reading books. I have no idea when it happened, but I can pretty much tell you that it was around the time my anxiety and depression was at an all time high.

I turned to video games, like Grand Theft Auto, for an escape. It gave me a “real time” sense of agency, more than any book ever did. It’s sad to say but it’s true.
