Yo integration with IFTTT puts array of commands at your fingertips

The phrase If This Then That is an example of causation in science — if this flint strikes sandstone, then there will be sparks — and now, it’s a powerful app for making connections between internet applications.

The myriad connections through IFTTT, called recipes, combine two internet-compatible services with the phrase If This Then That. In these recipes, one thing, such as sending a Yo, is the trigger: “This” in the phrase. The Yo triggers an Action — “That” — such as turning on the air conditioning.

While IFTTT does require set up ahead of time for creating these recipes, it’s quick and easy, and the recipes save time later on. With the new Yo widget available on Android, using Yo with IFTTT is especially time saving, as each recipe only requires a tap.

Turning the AC on or off isn’t the only thing that can be accomplished by Yoing IFTTT.

Forget to turn off your Hue lights?

Yo IFTTT, and they’re out.

Want to escape a meeting?

Yo IFTTT, and you’ll get a phone call a few minutes later.

There are many possibilities for Yo and IFTTT, from sending a Yo to turn on the AC, to posting a tweet, and soon, getting a Yo from your Wink: Egg Minder when your eggs go bad.

Much like Yo itself, using Yo and IFTTT together is up to the user.

Yoing IFTTT is what you make it.
