In 2017, when Village Vitality began, we wanted to be a place for you to come to get out of the rat race of daily life and find your oasis. We wanted a place for you to come to break through the tension and stress of the day and find rest and revitalization for your body. By taking the time to do this, when you leave Village Vitality, you are empowered to go and be the best parent, spouse, friend, or co-worker for everyone in your life. This is how the Active Recovery Center (ARC) came to fruition and is one-of-akind in Decatur. The highlight of the ARC is the assisted stretching that most clients come for and it offers full body stretching to release the common tense spots in your body (hamstrings, low back, calves, inner thighs). Our team of trainers will work with you to find the tight areas of your body, areas that may be weighing you down or causing aches. They will move and guide you through 25 minutes of whole body assisted stretching. Assisted stretching is a one-on-one session where the trainers will move your joints through different ranges of motion, with the goal of increasing range of motion throughout all the joints of your body. You will leave feeling more open, relaxed, and like you just received a 60-minute massage! This technique of assisted stretching is not only found in our Decatur studio, but is used by many professional sports teams on their clients so they perform at their highest level. Although our clients may not all be professional athletes, they come because they are looking to be the best version of themselves every day. Assisted stretching helps them get to that place. We also offer compression boots that many of our clients will utilize after their assisted stretch to compound the results.
