I agree that the economy is sick. I also agree that it’s not people being lazy for the most part. The thing is that if there is a way to solve this problem by working with capitalism, it’s probably a better choice than working against it. Guaranteeing a living wage for people is definitely working against it. I’m also not necessarily saying we should train everyone for free. I guess that the solution I’d really like is one where we can nudge businesses toward paying everyone a living wage without forcing them to. Does this solution exist? Maybe not.

The other thing is perhaps it’s not the wages that are the problem, but rather the cost of things. If we didn’t need insurance, a full-time minimum wage job would just barely support a single person in certain states. This would be a situation that could actually be worked out of.
