Copyright and Citing: YoungCurrent #SummerOf16

At YoungCurrent plagiarism i.e. copying somebody else’s ideas and not giving them credit is a strict no-no. We prefer the APA (American Psychological Association) style while citing and quoting other sources.

Citing YoungCurrent: To cite YoungCurrent use the following format.

Citing other sources: To cite a book — 
Author. (Year of publication). Title of work. Publisher City, State: Publisher

Eg. Rowling, J.K. (2004). Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. London, UK: Bloomsbury

To cite a newspaper article — 
Author. (Year, Month, Date of publication). Article Title. Newspaper title, pp. xx-xx.

Eg. Hebbar, Nistula. (2016, March 28). A day before confidence vote, President’s Rule imposed. The Hindu, pp. 1.

To quote a person — 
“Mr. (FirstName LastName) said to the author…”
Please note: If you did not take the interview please quote original source eg. book, newspaper article etc.

To cite an image — 
Photographer. (Year, Month, Date of publication). Title of photograph. City, State of publication: Publisher.

To cite a video (eg. YouTube) —
Author. (Year, Month, Date of publication). Title of the video. Retrieved from URL.
