We’re creating a culture of narcissists

A narcissist is someone who thinks they’re better than everyone else and therefor is entitled to everything without having to work for it.
We’re creating a culture of people who’re like that cuz the role models we look up to behave like that.
Most of societies new role models. don’t do real work. They don’t create any value. They’re just famous for being famous.
That’s dangerous. I truly believe every person is a superhero, but we have the alter ego dragging us down.
If the alter ego (that negative voice) is stronger than you, you’ll be depressed. If it’s equal you’ll be like most people. Comfortable/miserable.
But if you’re much stronger almost to the point where he becomes inconsequential, then you’ll be perceived as a superhero.
People’s alter ego wil say oh he’s just talented, lucky, gifted etc. all kinds of justification cuz they don’t wanna see the truth.
The truth is you’re fighting that alter ego daily. You fought and are fighting so hard that he doesn’t have a chance but to accept whatever your plan is because he knows you’re just not gonna stop.
He tells you to quit. You don’t listen. He tells you it’ll be embarrassing you do it any way. He tells you, you don’t know anything about that subject, you just start and learn as you go. And eventually he becomes weaker and weaker.
Narcissism is to opposite of what we should teach people. It’s feeding right into the alter ego.
What we should do is teach them this:
1.You’re entitled to precisely shit.
Under no circumstance EVER are you entitled to something. You got a degree now you’re entitled to a job. NOPE. Doesn’t work that way. You chose not to do research and just assume degree equals job. Everyone lied to you.. so fucking what?! just work your face off and go get what you want. You need to be a problem solver. Instead of complaining about the problem.
You think NASA complaint ab gravity being to strong to put people on the moon. We’re entitled to lower gravity. Of course not. It’s just how it is. Fucking deal w it.
“Guys should approach me. I’m a girl and I deserve it.”
You deserve shit. If you want a guy get him. Go ask him for the time. Go say hey how are you today.
“He’s a coward if he doesn’t approach me. “
That may be true assuming you judged the situation correctly (maybe he’s not interested or busy or maybe ur right.)
But so are you. You’re too afraid to even consider being proactive as an option.
So are u gonna make what you want happen or r u gonna bitch ab it?
“Girls should approach me, they’re so entitled.”
That’s true. And so are you. Fucking get after it. Go say hey, hi, hello to everyone. Become more sociable.
“The world would be better if everyone was like that.”
That might be true. But it’s not the reality. So r u gonna get what u want or bitch and moan?
2. Everything that goes wrong in your life is always your fault.
Take extreme ownership over everything.
That doesn’t mean sit in a corner and cry. It means if you don’t like things change them. Never blame anyone or anything.
(Or at least try to minimize it. Sometimes you just wanna bitch.. just don’t stay there for too long.)
Your guys aren’t selling? Make them better or let them go.
People aren’t friendly to you? Try to be super friendly to them or cut them out of your life if it still doesn’t work.
Take EXTREME Ownership. Jocko called it extreme for a reason. The book isn’t called take kinda sorta ownership.

And finally train mental toughness. Train daily to become better at fighting the alter ego.
Get it.
