I survived a lot of bad stuff in my life, but I didn’t gain any resilience from it because I was never aware that what I had gone through was an example of the ability to get through hard times. You have to be aware of your victories before you can draw strength from them.

You've got the right idea! I have made my Sundays into what I call my Digital Sabbath, which I devote to all the things I used to do on Sundays before we got all these electronic gadgets. If I don’t do this on Sunday, I won’t get good ideas on Monday.
