Beware, Vacuum Users: These Babies May Pose Shock Risks

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently indicated that certain Dirt Devil Total Pet Cyclonic Upright vacuum cleaners are being recalled over a possible electronic issue. At least 14 incidents were tied to the recalled products.
According to the official recall report, the vacuum’s electric cord plug prong may suddenly detach, yet it might also remain connected to the electrical outlet. If that’s the case and the user attempts to use the vacuum by plugging the broken outlet, he or she may be exposed to a possible electrical shock risk.
Over 140,000 units were sold nationwide. Over 9,000 were sold in Canada. Recalled models include the Dirt Devil Total Pet Cyclonic Upright vacuums that can be identified by the model numbers UD70210, UD70210CA and UD70210RM. These numbers are printed on a silver label, which can be found on the back side of the vacuum. Consumers with the recalled vacuums are being urged to stop using them. Contact Dirt Devil as soon as possible online or via the phone in order to obtain more instructions on how you should proceed to receive a free replacement vacuum.
Recalled units were sold nationwide at Walmart stores, AB Warehouse, Boardman Furniture, Fred’s, and online between February 2014 and November 2015. The replacement should be made available for free.
