Hyundai Recall Tied to Crash Hazard

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that all units of the 2016 Tucson vehicles are being recalled over a possible crash risk.

According to the official announcement, the recalled units were manufactured between May 20, 2015 and May 31, 2016. The recalled units were fitted with a 7-speed EcoShift Dual Clutch Transmission that, under certain driving or weather conditions may fail, causing the vehicle to not move if the accelerator pedal is pressed and released repeatedly.

Since these vehicles may expose consumers to crash risks due to pedal issues, the recall was deemed necessary.

Consumers who are concerned should stop using the vehicle immediately and contact Hyundai.

According to the company, owners will be notified directly after October 28th. At dealers, the vehicles will have their Transmission Control Module software repaired for free.
