Strategies to Improve Communication in the Workplace
Fear not! Good communication skills can be learned and developed.

Before improving our communication skills, we must first understand that there are different “styles” of communication. There are four leadership styles as identified by psychologist Carl Jung and recognizing them in yourself and in others is the first step towards becoming a better communicator. The four styles are: Controllers, Collaborators, Analyzers and Socializers.
When communicating with:
- Controllers be direct and concise.
- Collaborators be patient when listening to them and show interest in what they are saying.
- Analyzers present metrics, facts and process, stay away from small talk.
- Socializers be positive and show interest in them. Try to connect your message to their experiences.
Communication skills don’t come naturally to many people and if you feel you are lacking in that department, fear not! Good communication skills can be learned and developed.
