If “All Hell Breaks Loose” Look for Purpose to Fulfill

Tao of Yummi, Sutra 30, Microsutra 5/6

Does it feel like your happiness is at risk from the fear and anxiety of others? Want to do something about it? You don’t have to let emotional storms carry you away from the moment. Your emotions are legitimate. When you feel it, acknowledge it. Realize that you don’t have to attach and get carried away. Instead, let the ache serve as your signal to become mindful. Mindfulness in the moment opens you to the delightful and unexpected. Ask, “What’s really going on here?” There is something to learn. Moment by moment, Serendipity unfolds all around. Open to your source of inspiration, creativity and love.

When “all hell is breaking loose,” don’t let fear carry you away. Look for purpose to fulfill. Living into purpose gives you the confidence to become mindful in the moment and ask, “What’s really going on here?” The ability to ask this question with honesty and confidence, and see yourSelf naked, allows you to see what’s real. Armor protects you in some ways, but also limits your ability to feel — and thus your openness. Instead, become porous, the ultimate state of openness, and let it all, the light and the shadow, flow through you. Examine it. Learn by it. Apply what you’ve learned to purpose and wisdom.

You know it’s pointless to rage against a force of nature. When you rage against others, you allow yourSelf to attach to their emotional gravity. They’re simply forces of nature-as are you. Does the wind stop blowing to fall like rain? Let others be and focus on your value creation. Love yourSelf to love others. Be gentle with yourSelf to be gentle with others. The greater the chaos, the more opportunity for “the work.” Authentic value and wisdom is yours’ to give. Live into and up to the meaningful.
