A Letter to My Daughter About Young Men

I read this with great Amusement. In college we upper classmen would watch the new freshmen come with their parents. The worried men we often knew had been the hounds of hell in their college days. The were the ones prattling about the “dangers”,honor, and so forth. They were the ones who pursued any female like a hungry wolf hunts a meal.

Yes they were warning their daughters about the earlier copy of themselves. Yes,in older days there was no internet,no free porn,no computers either. As in today having resources helped. Pity the small town girl who thought the golden tongue was real only to be dumped after sex and a notch. The boys too had to be warned of the girls who came for a MRS degree.

Yes ,there are women who won’t take birth control and lie about it. Hoping to land a college boy who will give them a free ride to socioeconomic success.

Honor? Depends on the culture. Killing your sister because she kissed a boy is honor in some places. I myself, find that word obscene as if covers much evil. Games of Thrones would have been much less had Eddard Stark kept his knowledge of the Lannister kids to himself. Yet, he honored his sister’s secret and protected her child to his wife’s anger.

We are human with human desires. Women too have sexual desires. I remember a movie date where she took my hand and placed it under her blouse and bra on to her breast. Yes I was a nerd then.

I remember, how exasperated women would get when I finally got up the courage to ask them to dance with I thought you would never ask!

No it is not honor but communication. It is the sex dance that some are skilled at and other are not. Some have a string of men and others have none. Some do not think that anyone is interested in them because all are afraid to speak.
