7 Simple Ways to Infuse Spirituality Into Your Busy Life

Spirituality isn’t something that you do, it’s a way of life.

I came to this realization through my own spiritual journey. In addition to being a spiritual practitioner, I am also a divorced mom and a business owner. This means that there have been times that I haven’t had 60 minutes or even 30 minutes to devote solely to my spirituality. I remember days when I was bone tired and went to bed without making any connection with God. Those days frequently turned into weeks of no contact. As my spiritual practice deepened I came to understand that God resides in every room of my home and is present for every activity that I do. I concluded that it’s better for me to have a daily conversation with Spirit while I was getting dressed or cooking dinner than to have no conversation at all.

If you’re anything like me you’re stretched thin trying to meet the competing demands of your job/business, kids, partner and perhaps aging parents. You sincerely want to establish a stronger relationship with Source but making time for spirituality may seem like another addition to your full plate. I want to offer you a way to see spirituality as a natural part of your life, rather than something that you need to squeeze into your already packed calendar.

Many of us experience spirituality as something that we need to do, focusing on a specific activity rather than thinking about how we can infuse spirituality into our busy lives. Spirituality isn’t about doing yoga or meditating or engaging in a convoluted ritual, it’s about creating space to commune with the Divine throughout your day. It’s allowing Spirit into all facets of your life, instead of placing your spirituality into a separate box. Spirituality is also not about waiting until shit hits the fans to say, “Thank you” or to ask Spirit for help or guidance. Your spirituality thrives when the relationship between you and Source is ongoing.

Think of your daily spiritual practice as preventative care for your body, mind, spirit, relationships and finances.

Very often when you take actions that aren’t aligned with your highest good things fall apart. This is when most people run and look for magic spells, special prayers or rituals that will instantly turn their situation around. They’re then disappointed that a problem that took weeks or months to create isn’t reversed in 24 hours. However if you’re in regular communication with Spirit, as challenges arise, you’re asking for and receiving messages, guidance, protections and support to deal with them. You then have the opportunity to take actions that prevent the issue from developing into a full blown crisis.

There is no one way right way to express your spirituality. You have to find your own groove. I personally love the days when I can spend an hour or more in meditation or prayer, but that’s me. My goal is simply to communicate with God everyday. I am sharing seven easy and quick things that you can do each day to connect with the Universe. You can do them all or just one. Moreover, you can customize these suggestions based on your beliefs, preferences, and available time. The thing that matters most is your intention, which you can convey to the Universe mentally or verbally.

7 Simple Ways To Infuse Spirituality into Your Busy Life

  1. Morning Prayer or Affirmation: Upon rising say thank you for waking up and set your intention for the day. A simple prayer by Marianne Williamson is: “May I be this day, an instrument of love and healing.”
  2. Get Rid of Negative Energy In the Shower: While you are in the shower say a short prayer to be cleansed of any low vibrations that have attached to your energy field. You can also visualize the water washing away the negative energy.
  3. Use Your Morning Coffee to Attract Money or Love: Sprinkle cinnamon into your coffee if you’d like to attract money or love. Then, state your intention, turn on your coffee maker and enjoy. You can also make ginger tea to increase your cash flow.
  4. Pull An Oracle (or Tarot Card) for the Day: You simply ask a question and then pull a card. Oracle cards are easier to use than Tarot cards because each deck comes with a book that explains the meaning of each card. BTW, this isn’t fortune telling. The cards only helps you to identify blocks, opportunities, or influences — you have to then act on the information. As far as I am concerned, you create your own reality.
  5. Gratitude or Appreciation Pages: What you focus on grows. Each day write 5–25 things that you’re grateful about or appreciate. You can do it throughout the day or write your list at night before going to bed.
  6. Use Essential Oils: Essential oils can influence your physical and spiritual well being as well as your environment. For instance, rose promotes love and attraction; lavender supports calmness and spiritual healing; and peppermint purifies and raises your vibration. You can anoint your body with essential oils (*Be sure that the oil you’re using is safe for contact with your skin). You can add essential oils to your hair products and body lotion. You can also use an essential oil diffuser in your home or office.
  7. Carry Crystals: Crystals come directly from the Earth so each type emits a different energy. You can carry them in your bra, in your purse, pocket or you can keep them in your desk at work. Remember, crystals are personal items so what works for one person, may not work for another. Popular crystals are: Rose Quartz to attract love; , Black Tourmaline to protect against negative energy; and Citrine to attract abundance.
